1. About Plaque-Mounting
This popular and cost-effective technique enhances the look of prints by creating an elegant and clean presentation that blends with home and office décor.
Prints are mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight 3/8" wood fibre backing. A premium, non-glare, UV-blocking laminate finish is applied, providing permanent protection from fading and water damage. A 45-degree bevel is applied to all edges, and then sanded. Wood-grain or black finish is affixed to the beveled edges. A keyhole groove is routered into the backing for hanging.

2. About Matted Plaque-Mounting:
This popular and cost-effective technique enhances the look of prints by creating an elegant and clean presentation that blends with home and office décor.
Prints are mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight 3/8" wood-fibre backing. A two-inch black matte* (border) is added around the image and then a premium, non-glare, UV-blocking laminate finish is applied, providing permanent protection from fading and water damage. A 45-degree bevel is applied to all edges, and then sanded. A black matte finish is affixed to the beveled edges. A keyhole groove is routered into the backing for hanging.
*Note: If you would like a matte (border) larger than 2 inches placed around the image or a colour other than black, please contact us before or immediately following your order placement.
3. About Canvas Printing & Mounting
Using a 'Giclée' method, the image is printed directly onto canvas, and then laminated and stretched onto 1.5" wooden stretcher bars. The visible frame edges (or 'sides') are then finished with black linen tape (shown in the image above) or if you choose, you can select 'gallery wrap' (the edges of the image are duplicated to extend around the sides of the finished piece). The final archival product is able to last 70 - 150 years with the UV laminate coating. In addition, the surface of each print is non-glare, highly water resistant and durable.
4. About Matted Canvas Printing & Mounting
Using a 'Giclée' method, the image is printed directly onto canvas, and then laminated and stretched onto 1.5" wooden stretcher bars. The two-inch black matte* border around the image is applied as part of the image itself, meaning there is no 'seam' between the image and the 'matte'. The visible frame edges (or 'sides') are then finished with black linen tape. The final archival product is able to last 70 - 150 years with the UV laminate coating. In addition, the surface of each print is non-glare, highly water resistant and durable.
