What we do? Photograph residential, farm and commercial properties for the insurance industry. To date, nearly 20,000 properties captured in British Columbia. The professional photos are provided in a specific format geared to integrate with today's insurance documentation standards. The streamlined process is an investment on the part of diligent brokerages. This efficient, 'wholesale' method is a significant cost and time-saving measure over historical 'one-by-one' handling of visual records.
Why is this needed? We provide independent, 3rd party verification of insured structures. This process started following the tragic loss of hundreds of homes throughout British Columbia due to wildfires. This proactive approach provides peace of mind to home and property owners as well as insurance providers.
When do we do it? Generally, properties are captured April through November when there is minimal chance of snow accumulation on rooftops. Your insurance provider will give you advance notice in writing, usually 2-6 weeks prior to our visit. If you have received a notice from your insurance company or broker and you would like to know more specifically when we will attend your property, please feel free to contact us.
Do you need to be home when we visit? You may if you prefer but this is not necessary as the photos are of the exterior only. If you have access issues (fences, gates, animals) and/or particulars relevant to locating your street address, we appreciate if you contact us as early as possible after you receive your notification. We always arrive in a vehicle with company signage, photo ID and bright, reflective shirt or safety vest.
Is there any charge for this service? There is no charge to the home or property owner for this service. As mentioned above, this is a proactive investment on the part of your insurance provider.
Where do we go? Although currently providing this service throughout British Columbia, we may at times capture properties elsewhere in Canada.
